Beliy Plaschik (White Robe) is the first single for the new t.A.T.u. studio album Upravleniye Otbrosami (Waste Management) planned to come out on December 25, 2007.

November, 29 this video gets into MTV Russia exclusive rotation.
The idea and script of the video are created by Insider* who invited director James Cox, producer Billy Parks and a cameraman Joe Labisi to make this video. This team has filmed “All About Us” and “Ludi-Invalidi” videos.



Facts

• Beliy Plaschik lyrics are three independent poems by a 16-year old t.A.T.u. fan, a school-girl from Saint-Petersburg Maria Maksakova (aka eza at the official t.A.T.u. forum). Insider* made one t.A.T.u. song out of her poems.

• The music and arrangement are written by Vanya Kilar, one of t.A.T.u.’s favorite authors.

• The video Belyi Plaschik was shot on 6-7 October, 2007 at Hyperion Treatment Plant – a giant waste management factory of Los Angeles and the area.

• Despite being 6++ months pregnant Yulia made a decision to take a transcontinental flight.

• Final episodes were filmed inside plant’s reserve pool, which is usually empty and is used as waste tank in case of emergency. Shooting team had to listen special security instructions stating that in case of hearing alarm people have just 3 minutes to leave a 7-meter deep tank before it’s filled up to the top. Because this huge reservoir has no access, a special three-piece stairway was built, with rails and turns. People climbed it up and down, carried equipment. There were about 30 people working on the set, and it was not exactly clear how everybody could escape in case appears. Seriously.

• After the filming Yulia’s ankles were in bruises. Our estimate is that she had to walk a total of one kilometer in real jail shackles. Lena, playing a woman of the night, was filmed for several hours outdoors in quite a low temperature - and caught a cold (but our girls are no strangers to this; maybe some of you don’t know it, but while filming Not Gonna Get Us video the girls had to sit in a legendary truck for 3 hours in mini-skirts and t-shirts when it was -18C - and they didn’t get sick… That’s what youth does…)

• Tabloids wrote, “Lena didn’t want to shoot Yulia and had to be persuaded to play this”. Ha-ha. Shooting the video is not making some lame fan art. Lena and Yulia are professionals, they always know the script and never drivel.

• Disclamer: Similarities to uniforms of any times and peoples are accidental and historically invalid.

• Besides the version of White Robe that you will see on November, 29, there is a full version of this video that can’t be aired on TV and will not be released until later.

*Deep inside t.A.T.u. creative team, which is usually addressed with the official word “management”, there are all kinds of people. They generate ideas, create album artwork, write songs, lyrics, treatments for videos, take photos, blog and do many other things. They agree to stay in a shadow and don’t write their names on their works. They enjoy watching the results of their job, enjoy the mysticism of their incognito (though they always complain about their wage). They call themselves Insider.

5. MV 結尾部分在工廠一個擱置的水槽內拍攝——這裡平常是閒置的，只在緊急關頭用於盛放廢水。拍攝團隊十分認真地接受了特別安全指揮員的指導，因為如果發生意外，大家在聽到警報的時候必須立即撤離 7 米高的水槽，只要短短的 3 分鐘，水就會淹到水槽的頂部— —這個蓄水庫沒有任何出口，工作團隊只能另行搭建三架有扶手的特製樓梯在上面——大家就是靠著這三個樓梯，上上下下，運送器材。工作團隊總共有 30 多人，真的很難想像，萬一發生狀況，大家要怎樣逃生！

6. 在拍攝結束後，Yulia 的腳踝淤血了。估計是因為她在拍攝期間，必須戴著真正的監獄腳鐐步行長達 1 公里的路程所致。而 Lena 則因為要在晚上的時候，在極度寒冷的戶外進行拍攝工作達數個小時而得了感冒。 （但是她們對此都習以為常了。或許你們都不知道，當年拍攝 ”Not Gonna Get Us“ 的 MV 的時候，她們必須要在攝氏零下 18 度的低溫下，穿著短裙和襯衫，坐在那輛卡車內長達 3 小時之久，但卻沒有生病……果然年輕就是本錢……）

7. 某小報這樣寫：“Lena 不忍心朝 Yulia 開槍，經過一番勸說，才勉強同意”。哈哈，拍攝 MV 不是蹩腳的歌迷創作，她們都很內行，分得的清楚現實和虛構。

8. 免責聲明：MV內容純屬虛構，至於制服和哪個時期、哪些軍隊雷同純屬巧合。

9. 11 月 29 日在電視上公開播放的“白色長袍”是刪減版，完整版發行日期未定。 （losttatu：也就是說這又是一個有禁播版 的MV？）

“知情人士” 是指：t.A.T.u. 的創作群體，當然還有另外一個名詞——“管理團隊”。他們包括了各種各樣的人：有的提供構思，有的負責專輯封面，有的寫詞作曲，有的負責視頻剪輯，有的拍攝照片，更新 blog 等等等等。他們都樂於隱匿在幕後而不公開自己的姓名。他們喜歡工作帶來的成果（儘管也會抱怨薪水太過微薄）。他們都稱為“知情人士”。

All right, guys, it's been a while since I was here... Have read your posts about "Beliy Plaschik" and felt happy for all of us. When motherers revealed through Tvoy Den paper the last part of the video in the Internet, I felt terrible. I thought they took this pleasure of seeing the sudden ending from you, took my pleasure of watching your happy cries. I thought that they ing ruined what was kept in great secret and was given out in pieces to make it interesting for you.

Well, turned out the secret was not safe enough. The lesson is learned.

Fortunately, there was pleasure, as I can see.

Some people noticed that the video seems very short, "fast". I had the same feeling when I watched the final version (and I watched the video about 500 times). I think it means that you see this video "in one breath", take it "in one sip". Subconscious gets it with a bang.

Some inside scoop:

- The English version of "Plaschik" will not just be made in future - it but already exists and is waiting for its day (all the "lip-singing" scenes were shot both in Russian and English). The English lyrics are not the literal translation of the original Russian lyrics in "Plaschik" - in fact, it's quite different this time and, in my opinion, they fit the picture even better - open door for dead man walking.

- Those of you, who noticed, that there were things in the pictures that were not in the video, are right. If we put everything we shot into the footage, the video will last three hours. We will add some new scenes into the final footage of uncensored version.

- There's a chance that "Beliy Plaschik" maxi-single will be out together with a new track - 2nd single - and with the uncensored version of the BP video (in this case album's release will not be on December, 25 and will be postponed until the beginning of 2008. We'll see...)

有人覺得說 MV 似乎太短了，一會就完了。當我看到最終剪出來的版本時也有這樣的感覺（我已經反覆看了 500 次）。我想是因為你們是屏住呼吸、一口氣看完的，閃電似地被它擊中後才反應過來：MV 播完了。

一些內幕消息：

1. 英文版的 “白色長袍” 已經早早地錄製和拍攝完畢，而不再像以前那樣事後再翻唱、翻拍（MV 中 “對嘴型” 的鏡頭，英文的和俄文的各拍了一次） 。英文版的歌詞不是簡單地由俄文 “白色長袍” 的歌詞直接翻譯而成，事實上，它和俄文歌詞很不一樣，在我看來，英文歌詞更貼近 MV 要表達的內容：死囚漫步 （ losttatu：暫譯，正式中譯名以唱片公司翻譯為準）

2. 有人注意到，一些照片上的場景沒有出現在 MV 當中——的確如此。假如我們把拍攝的所有內容都放進 MV，那麼這個 MV 會長達 3 個小時。日後我們會增加一些新的鏡頭在完整禁播版的 MV 裡。

3. “白色長袍” 將有望發行成單曲，單曲 CD 裡還會加上一首第二主打歌曲以及禁播版的 “白色長袍” MV.

（它的發行日期不會是今年耶誕，而會是2008 年年初，我們一起來期待吧……）

In the video YULIA VOLKOVA, pregnant in real life, is strung up and shot by pop partner LENA KATINA.

It is the first single from album Waste Management.

The pair played schoolgirl lesbians in 2003 hit All The Things She Said.

No snogging this time – but great underwear.

More news, guys.

The video “Beliy Plaschik” (“White Robe”) uploaded by t.A.T.u. fans about a week ago at youtube.com is now #1, #2 and #8 simultaneously at top-10 most viewed videos in Russia in the last month.

Besides, Beliy Plaschik has received the biggest number of votes and was leading the "Favorite video" rating in Music category. It stays the most discussed and most linked clip in Music category in Russia as well.

Tomorrow is the end of MTV exclusive rotation of this video, which means that other TV channels may get Beliy Plaschik into their play lists.

Soon we’ll make a place at Beliy Plaschik page with a list of radio, TV and other media, where you could request the song and vote for it. T.h.a.n.k. y.o.u. to everybody who’s already doing it!

The last thing. We plan to release maxi-single Beliy Plaschik at the beginning of February. In addition to the BP song it will contain a couple of remixes, uncensored video as well as vocals from BP, maybe BP karaoke version and something else. Music video for the second single of this album will be released in March.

Release of the "Upravlenie Otbrosami" album is postponed to the April, 2008.

此外，白色長袍 MV 也在音樂項目的分類獲得多項的評分以及排名頗前的最愛 VIDEO 當中，也是俄國的音樂項目內最多討論及最多外連之ㄧ。
